Products
In order to undertake advanced core to reservoir studies, we have in daily use the main G&G software products such as Petrel, RMS, Eclipse, Mores, Olga, Prosper etc. Through our consulting projects we see that there are major gaps in the software products commercially available today. This may lead to inconsistent information being passed from one software application to another, and may cause people to take erroneous decisions.
Our software portfolio, which we have in the making are specifically targeted at bridging the information chasm. The first product, SENDRA, is in our portfolio, whilst other products are on the way.
Work Method - SCRUM We organize our software development by the Scrum methodology, so-called lean thinking. Scrum is an iterative framework for project management and software development. A key principle of Scrum is the project visibility and the possibility to modify features and directions during the development of the software, here Sendra and ResBase. Scrum is an empirical approach that accepts that the workflow and required features of the software cannot be fully defined and identified prior to development. Hence, Scrum focuses on the software developers’ and – management’s ability to deliver frequently and respond to changes in requirements. This ensures a software that is fully integrated with the customer’s needs and workflow – that may change within a relative short time frame. Our software team has used this method with great success when developing the core flow simulator Sendra. With close co-operation and communication between the end-user and software developers is ensured a final product much superior than the original suggestions, thoughts and ideas. Each work-cycle lasts from three to four weeks, and the company’s representative are invited to participate at monthly meetings arranged by Weatherford. The aim is to discuss the performed work and the implementations, check the finished product elements and to prioritize what to do in the nextwork-cycle. The advantages are frequent releases meaning that the customer always knows where the product is going and is able to make simple course corrections. Scrum provides continuous visibility of the projects status and direction to the customer.
